The Retreat at Church Creek is a refuge for pastors who feel alone, burned out, and are in need of support. Relax, recharge, and reconnect with others to form a strong support system.

There is a soul care and mental health crisis for pastors across the country. Statistics show that as many as 42% of pastors would resign today if they had another place to go. 40% are clinically depressed. Our mission is to provide help, encouragement, and resources before there are devastating effects on churches and families.

The Pastors Collective is a non-profit founded by Pastor Greg Surratt in Charleston, South Carolina. The mission of The Pastors Collective is to provide opportunities to address the real and
difficult work of planting, pastoring, and leading churches by fostering soul care, developing resources for pastors and continuing a national dialogue on mental health in ministry.

The Retreat at Church Creek is a 66-acre retreat center just 30 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from downtown Charleston owned and operated by The Pastors Collective non-profit. The retreat center property includes a 14-acre freshwater bass lake, a dock on deep water that is just minutes from the intercoastal waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, two miles of peaceful trails, a gun range, hot tub, and fire pits. The retreat center lodge sleeps 18 people with 6 1/2 baths.

THE BIG IDEA

Programming for The Retreat at Church Creek will be anchored by four-day retreats for up to 15 pastors at a time. Each retreat may include salt and fresh water fishing, disc golf, nature trails, access to an in-house fitness center (with coaching), cornhole, crazy ping pong, great conversations and lots of relaxation. At night, attendees and staff will share a great meal together and even greater discussions. At the end of the four days, participants will walk away with new friendships, resources, and ongoing support for those who would like to be involved in deeper soul care.

WHO CAN ATTEND

Retreat participation will be open to all pastors but the priority guest will be pastors of smaller congregations who are in need of a network of support and care. The goal is to make this opportunity a free resource for those who attend.

Get Involved

It costs about $1,500 to host one pastor for a four-day retreat. You can partner with The Retreat at Church Creek in our mission by including soul care for pastors in your missions budget.
